Video is 1:11 long. No sound. 20130301 (c) Vanessa V. Kilmer
Note: After 16 years with the same company, I was laid off on Wednesday. I was shocked but not surprised. I spent most of yesterday crying and adjusting my perception on my life. I slept well last night. I woke up refreshed for the first time in I don't know how long. It's been two days since I've had a headache and I am not grinding my teeth. I am happy. I see a future I will enjoy.
I know how you feel. That is rotten news. I hope you find something soon.
ReplyDeleteVanessa...
ReplyDeleteWhen one door shuts, another door opens!!
Trite little cliche' but in your case it's the truth.
Someone that has the skill, creativity, the experience, and knowledge that you have will not be off work for very long. Compose a resume', file for unemployment, relax thru the Spring, and enjoy life. When you get hired for your new position...I'll say "See? I told you so!"
Loved your Video 55
It's the first one ever!
Thanks for playing, you'll be fine Nessa...Have a Kick Ass Week-End
oh dang...that stinks...been laid off before...but hey headaches are gone...and you can write...and now you just have to sell it to get the check...no sweat..smiles.
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing it will be! Being furloughed 11 yrs ago was the best thing that ever happened to me.
ReplyDeleteI got fired once. Well, "Let Go" but it was the same thing. My Boss had gotten fired and his replacement was MEAN. He knew I didn't like him .. he smoked and it wafted out his office onto me. He wanted his coffee hot and there before he arrived to work and refreshed about every hour. I cried so hard when I lost that job... minimum wage, too!
ReplyDeleteBUT it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I had been so unhappy but scared to leave. It was the "kick in the pants" I needed. I hope this is your beneficial "kick in the pants". :)
I hope you find something much better1
ReplyDeleteOh yikes. But I'm glad your reaction the morning after was one of peace. I hope a much better door opens soon!
ReplyDeleteThat is so tough. I'm sorry.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find something you really love soon.
Kahlil Gibran had the right idea when he said "Every end is a new beginning"...:-)
ReplyDeleteWith respect to the paycheck - you and me both, sister. With respect to the headaches - yay that they are gone!
ReplyDeleteYes, it can be a good thing. Hope it goes well for you.
ReplyDeleteMy job is a little shite, nothing job but I fear losing it ever because it's the only job I've found that works around the depressive part of my bipolar disorder. Most of the time I manage to make it to work even severely depressed.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can take a week or two to regroup before starting to search for something else. And I very much hope you are able to find something that you can enjoy a bit. The very best of luck to you!
Thank you for your kind comments and support as always!
Every time I've been in a situation that was out of my control, things have always worked for the better. You'll find your way and end up in a better place.
ReplyDeleteYes, savor the possibilities! :-)
