10 Things You Might Not Know

I stole this from Quilly, who stole it from Cherie, who stole it from…and so on and so on.

The idea is to list 10 things – right off the top of your head – that we would only know about you if we knew you really well. 10 random things ranging anywhere on your personal map that make you a tad distinctive? Or just plain weird? Think quickly. Don’t go for deep. Go for quirky. Don’t try to put them in any kind of order and don’t make them long. Just start typing.

1. I avoid direct sunlight. I wear sunglasses even on cloudy days.

2. I have about 20 umbrellas but never use them.

3. I don’t wear t-shirts or baseball caps, ever.

4. I wear my wedding ring on my right hand.

5. I will eat almost any vegetable raw, but cooked celery and cabbage are just yucky.

6. I like salt, straight up. Always have since I was 2 years old.

7. My cousin shot me with an arrow.

8. I like to play in the mud.

9. I stand under the light of the full moon each month at midnight, naked, even in Winter, in my backyard. (Just don't look. You might go blind.)

10. I like crab legs and shrimp but I don’t like lobster.

  1. I love lobster, I'll eat your share.

Did your cousin live after shooting you with the arrow?

Is that you, Ethel! You shameless hussy!

  3. I'm with ya on the cooked cabbage and celery. Give me raw anyday.

    Oops, I think I'm blind!

  4. I like cabbage raw or cooked but can only tolerate squash cooked. I HATE when restaurants put raw zucchini on a salad because I sometimes mistake it for cucumber. GROSS!

  6. He did. He was so cute when we were younger. I dared him to shoot me and he did. This kind of stupidity runs in our family. He now looks (and acts) like the unibomber.

We have a tape of those songs. I thought we were the only ones who know him.

  7. #7 - see reply to Quilly below.

#9 - Multi-part answer: a) we spend so much time worshiping the sun, I think the moon deserves some attention. b) it feels quite rebellious and I don't get enough of that any more. c) I spent many years denying and suppressing parts of myself that I am working on bringing them back now that I am (only slightly) wiser than before. d) The Goddess requires a chat occasionally.

#10 - you and Quilly can share.

  8. See the reply to Quilly for more on the arrow.

See the reply to Logo for more on the moonlight. It becomes more exotic as time goes by.

    Happy Easter to you Shakira.

  9. Squash has to be grilled for me to eat it. Zucchini is weird raw.

  10. I like walking through cow patties too but don't get to do that anymore. All of the family farmers have been sold.

  11. That's where it feels most comfortable and it may have to do with seeing my Austrians relatives wear their rings on the right hand.

  12. Those were fun. I don't wear baseball caps, either. Only wear my Andy Pettitte T-shirts because I just have to. I am wondering what it's like to be out back and naked at night. Must feel great!

  13. Well now, do you bay at the moon too? Otherwise, my dogs have you there.

  14. Wow, I love your list! And I'm impressed with your committed relationship with the full moon.
You were shot with an arrow? Was that an emergency room visit on Thanksgiving? You must tell us more.
