Rabbit, Rabbit

"The best luck of all is the luck you make for yourself."

 - Douglas MacArthur (January 26, 1880 – April 5, 1964) American general, United Nations general, and Field Marshal of the Philippine Army

"Sure, luck means a lot in football. Not having a good quarterback is bad luck."

- Don Shula  (born January 4, 1930) Coach of the Miami Dolphins, the team he led to two Super Bowl victories, and to the National Football League's only perfect season. He holds the NFL record for most career wins.

"Luck? I don't know anything about luck. I've never banked on it, and I'm afraid of people who do. Luck to me is something else: hard work -- and realizing what is opportunity and what isn't."

– Lucille Ball (August 6, 1911 – April 26, 1989) American comedienne, film, television, stage and radio actress, model, film and television executive.

"Luck is tenacity of purpose."

– Elbert Hubbard (June 19, 1856 – May 7, 1915) American writer, publisher, artist, and philosopher.

"I've found that luck is quite predictable. If you want more luck, take more chances. Be more active. Show up more often."

– Brian Tracy (born in Vancouver, Canada in 1944) is a self-help author.

  11. RABBIT RABBIT

I love to watch Craig Fergusen because of his positive attitude.
No matter how bad it gets he says:
It's a good day for America and then finds something nice to say..
This applies to every day life as well.
If you wake up and feel bad just think how good it is for your country to have you and to wake up to a new day full of promise.
It certainly becomes a great day full of surprises.:)

  14. I like these quotes. I've never been one to adhere to the concept of 'luck' myself. The first quote reminds me of Terminator 2 movie, "There's no fate but that which we make for ourselves."

  18. I like the Lucille Ball quote about realizing what is opportunity. To me attitude plays a big part...if we think we are lucky or focus on the things in our like that feel lucky then good things (luck?) will follow.

  19. Luck is the opportunity, but the real difference is recognizing and taking advantage of the opportunities you are handed.

  20. Don Shula is going to work with me tomorrow. A student asked me something about quarterbacks that I couldn't answer. At all. This will make his day.

  25. Interesting quotes!
Plus, I'd never heard of the "rabbit rabbit" thing before. I was so intrigued that I clicked around for more information.
Much to my surprise, there's even a Wikipedia page on it:

    I never knew!

  26. My favourite luck quote is still..

"Sure, people said I was lucky. But the more I practiced, the luckier I got"

  27. I have to say that I fully endorse Lucille Ball's quote. Never depend on your luck, even if you are Irish.

  29. I like the Lucille Ball quote. I don't believe in blind luck as much as natural law and divine line-up when our intentions are set on the highest good.
