It's The Thought & The EFFORT That Counts

Snoogs, my daughter gave me roses for Mother's Day.
She knows green is my favorite color so
she got white roses and put them in green water.
The extra effort to make them special just for me
made them a perfect gift.

  4. Roses are so pretty. Too bad they don't last longer.

  6. We used to do this with celery to show osmotic transfer.I didn't know it would work with roses but, why not. Very nice

    1. Isn't celery already green? :)

I have to look up osmotic transfer so I know what it is.

    2. Come to think of it, celery is green! A chuckle ensues. . .
I suspect that we used red dye in the water for our demonstration.
Osmotic transfer is what allows water to reach the tops of the trees to keep the leaves green. Its a capillary-action type of thing.
