Fantasy Island

I spent this past weekend with my daughter at the PA Renaissance Faire. Mother Nature gifted us with beautiful weather, except for those 30 minutes of pouring rain on Sunday afternoon. We saw our favorite group The Tartan Terrors. We bought all kinds of fun things we don't need like masks and fans and knives. We had two great days of make-believe.

  1. Sounds like a great weekend. My parents took us once as kids to a renaissance fair. I think I recall why not twice.

  2. It sounds like a good time -- and your money -- was had by everyone.

  3. That sounds like a good mother-daughter thing to do. I hope my girls will want to do stuff like that with me when they grow up. :)

  6. I think we're going in September, partly as a fun thing to do with the con staff, partly as an "It's my birthday and this is the party" thing.

  7. How can you say that you don't need masks, fans, and knives? Life wouldn't be complete without them. Or without model railroad trains for that matter.

  8. OMG! You were in my territory! You were also just down the road from the wonderful Roots Farmers' Market. Great place. (Open on Tuesday only.)

  9. Knives and masks are ok but fans...they just end up stalking you...

  10. I love the Renaissance Faire, although I haven't been to one in years. I once rode my horse there, dressed in costume so I could get in free.

  11. That sounds like so much fun! Even the short rain sounds fun. I like for rain to come and then quickly go. It cools things off and cleans the air.
