Crochet - Red Fairy Glass Cardigan

Fairy Glass Cardigan - Begun May 25, 2025

I don't usually make things when I crochet.
I like to crochet simple stitches to
relax and disconnect my brain,
but I've been hankering for a bit of a challenge.
This pattern has diagrams which I've never used before.

I'm beginning to post about my projects
in the middle, but you've got to start from
where you are. This project is 3/4 of the way done.

I'll update this post as I go along with links to
videos I make or any other links about it.

FYI - I rarely follow instructions as written.

I'm making the XXXL size.
I like using natural fibers, but since this is
a first, I'm using acrylic to keep the cost down.

I'm using Caron Simply Soft in Harvest Red.
It is very soft yarn. I think I'll need at least 10 skeins of
Medium #4, 6 oz., 315 yards each.
The pattern calls for a #2 wool.

I'm using a 5mm / H8 crochet hook.
The pattern calls for a 3.5 mm/E4.

I'm not going to do detailed instruction videos
because someone else already did.

Check out Kiwi's Crochet Corner for 7 videos.
Following along with her made this so much easier.

Some other things:

Use stitch markers. They really make life easier.
You can use all kinds of things,
like safety pins, yarn, or find your favorites.
These are mine. They are everywhere and in all kinds of colors.

I compartmentalize everything.
Each type of project I work on has a different type of home.
Crochet lives in the white laundry basket.

Yarn bowls are so pretty
but I haven't found one I consider practical.
They are usually too small and too heavy.

I like a small trash can with handle holes.

And finally, the tool kit.

This little metal tin came in some sort of kit
but I no longer know exactly which,
but they are all over, too,
as a google reverse image search showed me.

Winter Wonder Tale - a novella

Rage Alexander Ledford, an alpha werewolf, has lost his pack. His only clue is an email confirming reservations at the Kisselton Inn in Pinevale Valley, NC, and a witch’s amulet stinking of black magic. In pain from the severed connections to his found family and filled with anger, he goes in search of the one responsible for the destruction of his world.

Evangeline Crowe, a lone witch, has been hiding in the mountains above Pinevale Valley, NC for centuries after the slaughter of her family and friends by a band of hunters. She trusts no one, especially not the Cherokee man storming her warded land, a man she knew long ago, a man who survived the destruction of their village, a man who doesn’t seem to remember her.

Can Rage and Evangeline overcome their fury and hatred to solve the mysteries of the missing pack, missing memories, and missing trust and fix their broken hearts?
